Ashlee Morgan

Dr Ashlee Morgan

Course Coordinator for Business Services (Marketing and Entrepreneurship) and a lecture in the School of Business and Law

Edith Cowan University

Speaker Bio
Ashlee brings a strong background in Marketing and Sport Business, with prior roles at the University of Technology Sydney and Curtin University. Her expertise centres on sport marketing and management, where she champions ethical decision-making and sound commercial practices across the industry.

Her research explores two core areas: sport business—including marketing, sponsorship, digital media, and governance—and social impact, focusing on ethical leadership, responsible governance, and diversity and inclusion in sport and events.

A passionate advocate for women in sport, Ashlee helped develop women’s AFL in Sydney and made history as the first female appointed to AFL Sydney’s Strategic Advisory Board. She currently serves as a Director on the Triathlon WA Board.

Driven by a commitment to transparency and integrity, Ashlee works to ensure that sport organisations embrace ethical practices that benefit athletes, fans, and the wider community.
JANINE JOYCE

Associate Professor Janine Joyce

Associate Dean of Social Sciences, Social Work and Youth Work, School of Arts and Humanities

Edith Cowan University

Janine is the Associate Dean at Edith Cowan University leading the Social Sciences, Social Work and Youth Work disciplines within the School of Arts and Humanities.

She is an experienced higher education leader and pracademic committed to supporting the development of students with the capacity and heart for community change and social care. Her research activities are informed by a deep commitment to social justice and planetary wellbeing. As an interdisciplinary social scientist with the ECU Research Centre for People, Place and Planet, Janine leads and contributes to projects related to agricultural ecosystem resilience, climate justice and transdisciplinary methodologies.
Kathryn McMahon

Professor Kathryn McMahon

Associate Dean of Research, School of Science

Edith Cowan University

As Associate Dean of Research in the School of Science at Edith Cowan University Kathryn supports the research of post-graduate students and researchers in Science and brokers research partnerships for impact. Her research on coastal ecosystems provides knowledge that contributes to management and conservation decisions and for building resilience to human pressures. She is a world recognised expertise in seagrass ecosystems, ecosystem health assessment, dredging management and impact prediction as well as monitoring and management of human pressures. Kathryn is adept at leading collaborative research and training future marine scientists and is a strong champion of diversity and equity in the workplace. She is experienced in delivering and leading high quality teaching and learning in environmental science, biology and ecology.
Kelly Choong

Dr Kelly Choong

Course Coordinator for Bachelor of Communication, School of Arts and Humanities

Kelly Choong has worked as an academic at several universities across Australia since 2000, including Queensland University of Technology, University of the Sunshine Coast, Central Queensland University, Griffith University, and University of Queensland. He is currently acting director, international strategy with the School of Arts and Humanities, as well as the course coordinator for the Bachelor of Communication and discipline leader in advertising. Kelly’s research interests include subculture marketing, advertising strategy, and cryptic signaling.

Nathalie Bergon in the Manager – International Operations within ECU’s International Office. She brings over 13 years of diverse experience in the international education industry, spanning ELICOS, VET, Higher Education, and agency management.
She is an accomplished leader, known for her strategic vision, effective communication, and innovative problem-solving. With a track record of streamlining processes, boosting student retention, and interpreting complex data, Nathalie brings valuable expertise to ECU's mission of international growth and excellence. Her empathetic leadership style and commitment to ECU's core values continue to support ECU in the ever-evolving higher education landscape.

Irine Mjombah is the Director of Marketing and Admissions at Edith Cowan College. She oversees the development and implementation of effective marketing and recruitment strategies for domestic and international students. She is also the Chair of the Regional Advisory Group (Africa and the Middle East) for Study Perth.
